How to engage uOttawa’s community to boldly imagine the future university in 2030?

Design for disruption.

Experiment with design to unleash dynamic, provocative & imaginative discussions with future building exercises to create a new university model.


The University of Ottawa is the world’s largest bilingual (English-French) university located in Canada’s Capital.  Over 40,000 students, 5,000 employees & more than 210,000 alumni are the core uOttawa community.  The school has 10 faculties with 450+ programs & is a member of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities.

Project integrated design thinking into creation of 10 year Strategic Plan called #IMAGINE2030.  Designed on-line digital multi-platform experience integrating LEGO® Serious Play®, NUREVA Span™ collaborative digital canvases & BANGtheTABLE© public consultation tool to create a bilingual multi-platform experience for anyone wanting to contribute ideas for the future university.  Launched January 2019, this ground-breaking initiative encompassed 35 in-person events while gathering hundreds of on-line ideas, comments, views &  recommendations over six weeks from across the globe which challenged the status quo, and proposed a more resilient, durable & dynamic future uOttawa experience.  #IMAGINE2030 resulted in #TRANSFORMATION2030 here.
