How to re-imagine the financial future of the Internet Society (Canada Chapter) with its Board of Directors?

Design for relevance.

Rethink the Society’s value proposition to Canadians relative to a sustainable future revenue strategy and action plan. Include diverse voices in the discussion while using a variety of inclusive design tools to drive a strategy and actions.

JOURNEY

The Internet Society – Canada Chapter advocates for affordable, fair and secure internet access for Canadians. Its focus is to bridge the digital divide by ensuring all Canadians reap the socio-economic benefits the internet provides.

The project incorporated diverse & inclusive design tools to drive hard discussion about revenue generation, sustainability and scalability of the Internet Society into 2020 and beyond. Story cubes, placemats, persona building and empathy mapping led to deconstructing the existing financial position, identifying gaps and potential areas of growth. Insights drove a big bold ideas challenge that scoped game-changing actions designed to increase revenue, grow membership and strengthen policy impact. Integration of tactile, analog & digital tools resulted in creation of record of experience NUREVA Span™ digital collaborative canvas that visually captured insights & analysis in real-time.

“Chrystia helped us breakthrough traditional thinking to develop a smart, solid & future-oriented growth strategy to achieve concrete, measurable and actional results. Her well-designed, flexible & inclusive agenda pushed us to think outside our box and focus on the future of the Internet for people – and our role in making that future happen. It was fun, hard & productive and we are very pleased with the result.”
